This collection originates from when in 1842, a new pattern block was delivered to a decorator in Belgrave Square, London. Intricately carved by hand on pear wood, the design was called Sweet Pea. According to the order books of the time it was considered so special that it was labeled a 'private paper' destined for the most important clients.

Named after an infamous bohemian private members club opened in London in 1874 – just a year before Cole & Son was founded – the collection evokes the glamorous and poetic era of the 18th and 19th century. Each of the nine designs references a cultural icon or gem of the time. Albemarle collection includes: Baudelaire, Chatterton, Wyndham, Albery, Aldwych, Blake, Byron, Piccadilly and Coleridge.

Pretty pastel shades are the perfect paper for a period look, from small Regency style repeating patterns, to the Victorian trellis.

This collection features bold, large-scale, retro designs with contemporary colourings. Designers include David Hicks and Michael Clarke.

Lovers of Cole & Son’s Contemporary Collections can look forward to a fresh take on iconic designs with the launch of Contemporary Restyled in summer 2012. The eagerly awaited collection will celebrate a selection of patterns that are the heart and soul of the British wallpaper company with new colours, scales and reworked designs. Cole & Son has breathed new life into popular designs from the brand’s extensive history, including the beloved Woods, Cow Parsley, Orchid, Hicks Hexagon, Palm Leaves and Flamingos.

Leading wallpaper brand Cole & Son pays tribute to great British days out with the launch of Festival Stripes. The collection is inspired by the marquees, racing colours and blazers found at the most loved and quintessentially British festivals. Working well in both contemporary and classic settings, the new collection sets the standard for sophisticated and distinguished interiors; offering a range of twelve designs and a total of fifty-six crisp and modern colour ways.

Comprising fifteen designs, Cole & Son’s new collection follows the success of the first Fornasetti range, launched in 2008, delivering a repertoire of magical themes within a collection of designs that are at once iconic and covetable. Fornasetti II takes a bold step in wallpaper design, transcending the obvious and transforming eclectic and whimsical drawings into a truly stunning array of co-ordinating wallpapers in an exciting range of colours and styles. Eccentric motifs of fantastical flying machines, architectural details, playful monkeys, keys and owls all evoke a theatrical and magical space, while the use of wide width friezes, borders, digital panels and double width papers gives this collection an unparalleled diversity in the way in which it can be used. Materials such as metal, timber, marble and concrete provide inspiration for this collection, with many of the designs incorporating a recycled feel for a vintage or urban effect. The designs are a fusion of new ideas and prints from the extensive Cole & Son archive.
